How did it all start?
In the beginning, it was just my simple need to solve the problem of carrying heavy bags of vegetables and fruits from the city market and shops.
Tomáš and I love spending Saturday mornings at the town market, enjoying the atmosphere of the early morning sun, the hustle and bustle of the vendors, and buying vegetables and fruit locally, but carrying that purchase at the end was always quite a challenge. In supermarkets, on the other hand, we shop at least a week in advance, which meant we needed something that could fit all our shopping and also hold the heavier weight.
The deep, old-fashioned and mainly fabric trolleys lacked panache and their depth was impractical when loading and unloading groceries. Plus, if the trolley is filled in the wrong order, there is a risk of it becoming wrinkled and contaminated with food. This type of trolley is impractical for storage as it cannot be folded down to a smaller size.
We were looking for something for ourselves, we found something for everybody.
I adore pretty and practical things at the same time. That's why I was also looking for something that was not only stylish and easy on the eye, but also storage not only at home, but also in the car, practical to maintain and that I could fit a lot of stuff in.
I found that there is nothing like that on our market. Even when I did find something, it was too small for our normal shopping, fabric and very hard to store. Tomas and I started toying with the idea of bringing it to the market. We want to make people's shopping more enjoyable and bring more convenience and practicality to their lives.
And so we went for it.
We already know what such a process can entail, so we set about preparing, inventing and creating as soon as possible. We set out to create a product that met our values of comfort, style and functionality.
Our main goal was to create a product that brings comfort to people's lives in a variety of situations. Whether a person is going shopping, to the library, or on a picnic, they can pack comfortably into the Portelino and be on their way right away.
Turning our ideas into reality.
We wanted to bring shopping trolleys that were stylish and timeless, so we spent a long time looking for the right colours. The colours we chose, with their earthy undertones, are pleasing to the eye while being versatile and versatile. Last but not least, they are stylish and go with any outfit.
We were keen to create a logo that would represent not only functionality but also style. For the colour scheme of the logo, we opted for the shade Vivid Red, which fits perfectly with the earthy colours of the trolleys and at the same time catches the eye with its shade.
When thinking of the logo, the donkey was the first thing that immediately came to mind, as it is an ideal stylish helper and has been helping people carry things since time immemorial.
